In September the Jewish Woman’s Association of Hong Kong (JWA) welcomed Marissa Raccah who will join Shani Brownstein as co-chairwoman.

The board has also expanded to include 14 people, namely, Sarit Azrilevich who will serve as Treasurer, Amy Mines Tadelis as Secretary, Raz Alcobi, Irit Balas-Rozer, Gilat Gefen, Sharon Maghnagi, Sarah Oliver, Yael Rubin, Ana Scherer, Rebecca Schrage, Emily Simpson and Joy Zweig.
With an expanded board JWA will be planning more interesting events for the community as well as increasing support for their charitable partners in Israel and Hong Kong.
JWA organised a welcome evening event at which they bade a fond farewell to Ana Scherer who takes up the position of Past Chairwoman and will remain on the Board. Newcomers to Hong Kong were welcomed by veterans and invited to participate and volunteer for upcoming events such as the JWA Bazaar which will take place on 23 November.
In addition on 19 October, the JWA Pink Team participated in the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation’s annual Pink Walk to raise funds for Breast Cancer awareness, held on The Peak in Hong Kong.
Since 2013, JWA has funded a project to support women in low-income areas of Hong Kong requiring advice and assistance in relation to Breast Cancer. Headed by Marissa Raccah and Shani Brownstein, the team comprised of 65 members of the community of all ages, from grandparents to babies. Team members enjoyed a breakfast of pink bagels which were kindly donated by JWA Board Member Rebecca Schrage.
