|Persistent rain did not dampen the enthusiasm and attendance of shoppers at this year’s annual Hong Kong Jewish Women’s Association (JWA)

Bazaar that took place on 25 November at Island School.
As with all previous events, visitors arrived in their hundreds to eagerly purchase discounted branded clothes, jeans, jackets, knitwear, bags, shoes, electrical goods and housewares to quality toys and books for all ages.
Volunteers manned the booths and kosher food and snacks were supplied by Chabad.
A lot of preparation is involved the night before with volunteers setting up the stalls and unloading the boxes of merchandise.
As usual there was plenty of activities for children such as face paintings, handy crafts and other attractions to keep everyone happy.
All the money collected during the day goes to the various charities that JWA represent.
“In spite of the inclement rain, the volunteers made the 2012 JWA Bazaar another successful event. I am very grateful to all the volunteers, donors, shoppers and everyone else who helped made this event possible,” said Ana Scherer, JWA Chairwoman and Bazaar Organiser.
“It was very inspiring to witness the community showing a deep commitment to such amazing causes. Our hope is to continue to engage all in this work of making our world a better place,” Scherer added.
