More than HK$ 1 million was raised on the night through the ongoing and generous support of JWA patrons. The proceeds goes directly to benefit the programmes JWA run in aid of women and children both in Israel and in Hong Kong.
In keeping with the theme of the evening guests were treated to a fusion-style menu and a performance by esteemed US pianist Sophia Yan who played a medley of pieces inspired by Shanghai in the early 20th century.
“We are very grateful for the continuous support we receive from the Hong Kong Jewish community and the greater community at large. Being involved in this organisation gives us a sense of contribution that is indescribable, too meaningful to put into words. Our efforts are fully compensated when we disburse funds to our beneficiaries and witness the progress of the projects the JWA sponsors and the impact it has on people’s lives.” said Ana Scherer and Shani Brownstein, the CoChairwomen of the JWA.
