The Jewish Women’s Association of Hong Kong (JWA) will be holding its annual Charity Bazaar on Sunday, the 23rd of November, 2014.
Through the efforts of collecting and selling unwanted or excess stock from people such as yourselves, we are able to create an important, annual community event which helps us raise much needed funds for vital and deserving charities supporting women and children in need.
As we have done in the past, the funds raised by the Bazaar will be donated to charities in both Hong Kong and Israel. These charities help women and children with cancer, provide education for bedridden children, protect women at risk, as well as support a daycare center in a low income area. We support some of the most vulnerable sectors of society.
Last year we managed to raise approximately HK$600,000, and this year we are aiming to double this amount.
We are contacting you with hopes that you or your company would be kind enough to donate any samples or merchandise which you no longer need, or indeed want to ‘pass on.’
Many of our past donors have been delighted to have the opportunity to dispose of such goods with the knowledge that they are being used to benefit others in need. As the JWA Bazaar is staffed by an enthusiastic and hard working group of volunteers, our overhead costs are minimal and the income generated by your donated goods directly benefit the clients that our carefully selected charities support.
The JWA is a non-profit organization that has been contributing to Hong Kong charities for more than 68 years. Since 2012, the JWA has been sponsoring the HK Breast Cancer Foundation educational projects that serve more than 4000 women in low income areas of Hong Kong annually. These women learn about breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection and receive free mammograms as needed.
If you can support our annual JWA Charity Bazaar with a donation, we would be exceedingly grateful. We are happy to take any donation, large or small.
Please feel free to contact us with queries or offers of goods via e-mail or telephone.
